As the Student Support Counselor at Great Brook School, I work with students in grades 5-8 to provide one to one, small group, and family support services. The idea of this role is to help students who may need a more in-depth counseling approach that is still school based. This means students could be working on anything from executive functioning skills, family concerns that are impacting them during the school day, and/or social skills that impact friendships, etc. Great Brook School values family connections, and the Student Support Counselor works to help foster those relationships while providing students with a safe place to feel valued and share their emotions.
I have been working in education for the last 13 years. Most recently, I have worked as a school counselor for the last four years. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Granite State College and a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. I live in Peterborough with my husband, Shawn and our five daughters, Zoe, Kailyn, Lorelei, Parker, and Julienne. We love spending time together with our large extended family, playing roller derby together, and taking photos in any photo booth we can find!
