Last year, GBS had to completely restructure its teaching configuration. This meant that our Extended Learning Programs (or ELPs) could not run. This year, we have been able to have these programs running again. Students self-select, apply for, and attend weekly ELPs. We are so excited to see our students tomorrow! Later today we will open PowerSchool and students and families will be able to see student schedules. Fifth grade students and students new to GBS will receive a letter in the mail letting you know how to activate your PowerSchool account.

We will have hard copies available for ALL students in the morning and staff will help direct students to their first block class.

On December 15, we heard from Sarah Paradis (a district Speech Therapist), that her 5 year old son was adamant about doing something to help others. After looking into a few options, they settled on donating snacks and other non-perishables to GBS. On Friday, December 18th they delivered their donation. Thank you so much to the Paradis family.

Students and teachers at GBS are re-imagining how to “do school” this year. Even though we can’t use most of our tents yet, classes are happening outside. Students are connecting with their teachers, as well as their in-person and remote peers. Teachers are finding new and creative ways to engage their students academically while supporting their social-emotional needs.
