Search Engines Galore!

If you’re like most of us you probably always go to Google to search for websites. You probably don’t even know that their are other “search engines” that might be better at giving you the results you’re looking for. You’re not alone! Check out one of the following search engines next time you’re online and see how it compares to Google!
Searchcube – A visual search engine that presents previews of up to 96 websites in a unique three-dimensional cube interface. It requires that you have Javascript enabled and FlashPlayer version 9 or higher installed for your web browser.

Twurdy – A play on the words “too wordy” this search engine gives each result a readability level and then shows the readability of the page using a color-coded scale on the left side of the page.

Wolfram Alpha – Computational Knowledge Engine. Very cool. Click on “Examples” to get a sense of what it does!
